Marketing Recommendation for NWTC Website
For my third marketing recommendation, I found that “NWTC Canvas” is the second most searched term on Google, immediately after “NWTC” itself. This indicates that a large number of users are specifically trying to access Canvas, as per the image below.
Because of this, I recommend adding clearer direction on the homepage to inform students that they must first select “Student Login” before accessing Canvas. Alternatively, the homepage could include a direct link to Canvas to streamline access.
In addition, I recommend making the Canvas link more prominent within the student portal. Currently, when I log in, my attention is drawn to the “Read the How-To Guides” button rather than essential links such as Canvas, as seen in the image below. The most frequently used and necessary resources should be positioned prominently at the top of the page, rather than requiring users to scroll to locate them.
Adding Canvas to the side navigation menu may also improve visibility and usability.
These adjustments would improve user experience, and help users find canvas easier.
